JOB DESCRIPTION


THE ORGANIZATION:
The After-School Corporation (TASC) was established 1998 to enhance the quality and availability of after-school programs, with the goal of making after-school universal and publicly funded.  TASC’s Programs Division provides grants management, training and technical assistance to more than 200 after-school programs that are operated by community-based organizations (CBOs).  

THE POSITION:
Reporting to the Vice President of Programs, the Director of Program Quality has overall responsibility for the systems and staff that ensure effective design, implementation, marketing and evaluation of monthly meetings of Site Directors, central and site-based training, and additional program resources available to Site Directors. The Director of Program Quality is a senior position supervising a staff of five.  The Director of Program Quality is also the primary link between the Program Division and TASC’s new Center for After-School Excellence.

Responsibilities:
•    Oversee the work of managers and program coordinators who develop, market, implement, and evaluate peer conferences, central and site-based training, and program enhancements.
•    Ensure that the program content promoted by TASC complements school day curricula and learning standards, while supporting students’ social, emotional and physical development as well.
•    Work with CBOs, site coordinators, TASC Program Officers, and Center to determine professional development needs of diverse after-school workforce.
•    Support VP of Programs in strengthening after-school quality by integrating research, evaluation findings and best practices into Division’s work with after-school programs.
•    Work closely with other TASC departments to: design and launch new initiatives and coordinate communication with CBOs, schools, and public and private funders.  
•    Coordinate efforts with Center to: meet professional development needs of after-school workforce without duplication; provide input to Center on professional development needs of after-school sites; publicize Center and TASC offerings to TASC sites.
•    Contract with a variety of proven providers to deliver TASC professional development offerings and program enhancements.
•    Monitor budgets and spending for the department’s activities.
•    Serve on TASC’s leadership team, reviewing and informing agency-wide priorities.
•    Supervise and mentor four managers.

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree and at least seven years experience working with public and private non-profit institutions; master’s degree in education or a related field preferred.
•    Demonstrated leadership capacity; ability to inspire and manage others
•    Experience working with both school and CBO communities
•    Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and respond promptly to internal and external inquiries
•    Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
•    Attention to detail and high standards for presentation of written material
•    Capacity to understand diverse funding sources
•    Strong computer skills, especially MS Word and MS Excel
