DIRECTOR OF LEASING

Job Description

 

Background: 
This residential apartment complex is an upscale, mixed-use development located on the east side of Manhattan.  The 1,500-unit apartment complex has been praised for its architecture, and its ability to blend its commercial and residential uses for the mutual benefit of all tenants.  The management company has recently completed a $35 million capital improvement, upgrading all of its facilities including the residential apartments and other amenities.  It is now poised to attract new tenants to its community and is looking to strengthen its tenant base in the medical and international communities as well as establish connections in new markets.  As such, the management company is seeking a new Director of Leasing who will aggressively seek new opportunities to develop its tenant base, invigorating the community.

 

The Position:
The Director of Leasing will work with senior management to develop the overall marketing and leasing strategy.  He or she must be a highly skilled real estate professional who has provided leadership in significant management positions for major real estate enterprises for a number of years.  The Director of Leasing should have expertise in marketing residential and commercial real estate, lease assumption and negotiation, revenue forecasting, capital and expense budgeting, contract management, and strategic analysis and reporting.  He or she must be a highly intelligent and strategic problem solver with excellent written and communication skills.  The Director of Leasing will also be a hands-on manager and able to respond to crises as they occur in an efficient and effective manner. 

 

The successful candidate must be capable of integrating into the senior management and fit into the corporate culture.  The Director of Leasing must also be able to build and maintain client relationships and promote the organization in the local market.  In addition, he or she will be bright, diplomatic, analytical, of the highest integrity, and possess sound judgment as well as a sense of humor. 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

·        Work with senior management to develop and implement marketing/leasing strategy.

·        Establish monthly goals for and supervise on-site leasing agents.

·        Manage Resident Prospect Tracker

·        Establish and supervise procedures related to tenant move-in.

·        Produce and analyze monthly traffic reports and vacancy trends.

·        Interface with the Internet marketing consultant.

 

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s of Arts degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

·        New York Real Estate Broker’s license.

·        A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in the real estate field, preferably in residential real estate.

·        Managerial experience and experience in supervising rental and/or sales agents.

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
